How the RCS Messaging Flow Works
The RCS (Rich Communication Services) messaging flow connects an Android end user with the broader messaging infrastructure through a cloud platform and interconnected hub. The process begins when an RCS message is generated or received on the user’s Android device. The cloud platform acts as an intermediary layer, managing messaging requests, APIs, integrations, and communication with the RCS ecosystem.
The interconnected hub serves as a bridge between the cloud platform and the RCS messaging platform, helping route messages between different networks and service providers. The RCS platform then handles the messaging infrastructure and supports features such as rich media, images, videos, interactive buttons, read receipts, typing indicators, and rich cards. In simplified terms, the communication follows Cloud Platform → Interconnected Hub → RCS Messaging Platform → Android User, with communication potentially occurring in both directions.
