How CPaaS Works
CPaaS (Communications Platform as a Service) allows businesses to integrate communication services such as SMS into their applications without building their own telecom infrastructure. A business sends a messaging request through a secure API, SOAP Web Service, or HTTPS connection. The request is received by the Web Tier and processed by the Middle Tier/Bearerbox, which manages the messaging logic and coordinates communication with the platform’s supporting systems.
The platform uses multiple databases to manage different aspects of messaging. The DND Database and Opt-Out Database help check whether a recipient can receive the message, while the Client Database manages customer-specific information and the CDR Database records messaging transactions for tracking and reporting. Once approved, the message is forwarded to the SMSC (Short Message Service Center), which communicates with the mobile operator and delivers the SMS to the recipient’s device.
